Just a Couple Beers

Hailing from the Great Plains’ state of Nebraska in the US, I bring a unique mix of genres to the table (rock, punk, soul, reggae, country, blues, jazz, world, hip hop). Do I have a favourite? They’re all my favourite, depending on my mood! I dj’d at venues in Switzerland and volunteered at KEXP in Seattle. I love music & the power it has to connect us. Just a couple beers is an innocent enough beginning to many a memorable shenanigan – if you don’t mind a bit of irreverence & goofiness along the way!

With a different featured album every time, I talk about the bands, the history of the tracks, and any fun facts that spring to mind. Full of nostalgia, I also cover the most horrific tracks from that time in my “Maximum Cheese” section. I also have a trivia quiz based on popular culture from the 80s and 90s. Anyone who loves a giggle and holds giant shoulder pads in their memory with fondness will love it. The aim? To leave people wanting to rush out, buy a Soda Stream, a Sinclair C-5 and a Remington Fuzz-away, and dig out their neon leg-warmers.

Ungrateful Colonist Radio Hour

Presented by Tim Myers, a self-described music nerd and recent American arrival in the UK. On the show, Tim details an American’s experience in the UK and exorcises his immigrant homesickness with deep explorations of the music of various American scenes and other current and former members of the commonwealth. With a characteristically punk rock and DIY attitude, Tim channels the American settlers who came before him, creating a soundtrack for those livid over stamp taxes, ready to dump imported tea into harbors.

The Morning After

Will & McLeod play a mix of well-known and obscure funk, dance, indie, soul, ‘hits’ and even jazz, sprinkled with chat about their (often contrasting) music playlists.
