The Inner Soundtrack with Nicole

The Inner Soundtrack with Nicole

The first Monday of the month, 2pm to 4pm

The Inner Soundtrack is an introspective music and conversation show presented by Nicole, exploring the emotional relationship people have with music across different eras of their lives.

The show moves through contradiction, fragmentation, grief, survival, reinvention and the different versions of ourselves we carry over time — exploring how certain songs become attached to memory, heartbreak, identity, rage, longing, confidence and aliveness.

Blending alternative, folk, electronic, metalcore, singer-songwriter and emotionally immersive soundscapes, the focus is less on genre and more on emotional truth — the way music can hold us, reveal us, unravel us and sometimes help us reconnect with ourselves again.

Alongside the music, the show explores emotional storytelling, human duality and the quieter inner experiences that often go unspoken. Less about presenting “at” people, and more about creating an atmosphere listeners can emotionally step into.

The audience is anyone who has ever felt deeply connected to music beyond simply listening — people who use it to process, escape, survive, remember, feel understood or find themselves again.

I want listeners to feel immersed, understood, reflective and emotionally connected when they listen — like they’ve entered a space where emotion is allowed rather than flattened or shut down.

What brought you to Phonic FM?

I wanted to create a space where people could connect more deeply with what music actually means to them emotionally, and Phonic felt like the right environment for that. A place where eclectic taste, creativity and personality are welcomed, and where there’s room for music and conversation that feels honest, reflective and human.

What does Phonic FM mean to you?

Phonic FM feels less like commercial radio and more like a collective of people sharing parts of themselves through music, conversation and atmosphere — and I think that creates something much more authentic and meaningful for listeners.

What do you do when you’re not on Phonic FM?

When I’m not on Phonic FM, I’m usually immersed in creativity, horses, music or training in some form.

I’m a multidisciplinary artist and writer, and a lot of my work explores emotion, identity, transformation, human duality and lived experience through visual art, storytelling, songwriting and conversation.

I spend a lot of time around live music and am deeply connected to the emotional experience of performance and sound — whether that’s discovering new artists, attending gigs or working on my own creative projects.

Alongside that, I’m also an equestrian professional and rider, and train in CrossFit and hybrid fitness, which has become another important outlet for resilience, discipline and mental strength.
