Sound and Vision is back on Phonic FM!

Sound & Vision is a soundtrack based show which presents the best of music from the worlds of film and television, and so much more. Follow our bold adventurers, Lee Rawlings, David Trigger and Dan Barratt, as they explore all manner of riches from Oscar winning composers to b-movie obscurities, cult TV theme tunes and incidental music to television idents! We juxtapose the unusual and elusive with the fondly loved to bring you a diverse mix of sounds from screens big and small!

Following on from May 2014 (where the show covered, amongst other topics, Comedy and Kids Cult TV) the show returns to its semi-regular Tuesday evening slot on 1st July (22:00 – midnight). Each week we cover a different theme and, during July, we will once again be plundering all manner of material to bring you, amongst others, the sounds of Armageddon, the Wild West and Gerry Anderson. Not to mention, the return of our cult kids themed show ‘Kool For Skool’.

Lee is a familiar voice to listeners of Phonic fm and a regular host on several shows (including Spitting Feathers, the Father & Son Show and Phonic Screwdriver). Here, he gets the chance to combine his love of all things musical with his enthusiasm for cinema and television. Dan has a personal passion for Horror and Fantasy cinema, together with a love of classic and cult TV. David is a keen television historian with a passion for and knowledge of television music. Occupying the show’s TV Lounge, David heads up an array of weird and wonderful music from rare themes and incidental scores to, the now infamous, ‘TV Start-Up Of The Week’.

Sound & Vision is great big fun mix of a show, with plenty of chat and a huge big helping of great music that you just don’t often get the chance to hear. We combine a diverse array of interesting and often surprising music with a jolly conversation. It’s like three pals having the time of their life, which they are. If you like film, you’ll enjoy this show… if you like great TV, you love this show… and, if you like both, well, let’s just say you’d better not miss this show

Dan, David and Lee would love to hear your thoughts, your memories and your requests… If you have any hard to find pieces you would like us to try and find, or if you have any ideas of what you’d like us to look at in future shows, please get in touch!
