Local screen, stage and radio personality Douglas Mounce will be live in the Phonic FM studio chatting about his varied career in show business to Paul Gallagher on Wednesday 1st June 2011. Some excellent music (rock with some jazz) will intersperse the interview.
Douglas made his professional debut in 1971 as comedian and impressionist at The Hoe Theatre, Plymouth. However, his whole career encompasses a number of areas, including TV and radio, theatre, especially pantomime, TV commercials and corporate videos. His television work has included him in doing some reporting.
Douglas has performed at many of the regions theatres, including the Palace in Paignton, Landmark in Ifracombe, Babbacombe in Torbay, Barnfield in Exeter, Pavilion in Exmouth and Riviera, Teignmouth. His stage work includes both comedy and serious plays. He has 26 pantomimes under his belt, appearing with such well-known actors as Roy Hudd, Ruth Madoc, John Nettles, Rolf Harris, Paul Shane, Bonnie Langford and Don Maclean.
Douglas has made appearances in popular TV programmes including Casualty, Terry and June, Larkrise to Candleford and Jam and Jerusalem. His radio work has involved him in many shows over some years, including presenting his own specialist ‘Showtime’ programme on local radio.
