Station Well Raver
With Steve, aka Well Raver. It’s a rave music show under a wellbeing umbrella. This means I will have breaks within the music in order to talk about the latest wellbeing news in the local community.
My Well Raver organisation has a following on Facebook and I would hope to reach out to these people, and others who want to listen to some high octane music on a Saturday night. I want people to feel euphoric. I aim to play euphoric music such as hardcore, hard trance and hard house – music that really gets people going.
What brought you to Phonic FM?
I initially heard about this through doing the Sober Raves with EDP Flourish Cafe.
What does Phonic FM mean to you?
It’s about meeting new people and having new experiences. For myself it’s a further chance to gain dopamine chemicals that help me to feel well in myself and to use it as to tool to bring happiness to others. If I have gust DJs or speakers on the show they will be from a wellbeing background.
What do you do when you’re not on Phonic FM?
When I’m not putting on raves and kids discos I do food delivery work on an electric bike. I go to a community centre every Friday (The Beacon Community Centre) and love meeting everyone there. I also sometimes do wellbeing talks at their Exeter wellbeing group. Love to do all the tasks for Well Raver, such as design flyers, make videos and contact people with a view to sharing the Well Raver events in return to sharing their event information on the Well Raver Facebook site. I simply like to meet new people all the time.
How do radio presenters do it?
Because they are passionate about their music, and enjoy the chance to be creative.
