Duplicity promises anarchy, chaos and disorder

Duplicity, Exeter Bike Shed Theatre, Friday 17 and Saturay 18th January, 8.30pm

London, 1977, Britain is celebrating the Queen’s Silver Jubilee and England is dreaming. Set against the volatile backdrop of the Punk Rock explosion, Duplicity follows the journey of identical twins, Tommy and Finn, as their sense of self and reality disintegrates into a maelstrom of anarchy, chaos and disorder.

Exploring themes of identity, duality and deceit, Duplicity is a new and original play by Rosie and Midge Mullin (Skin Deep) using monologue, interwoven with action, projection and music to create a powerful and candid drama.

After sell-out performances at The Bike Shed Theatre at the From Devon With Love and Ignite Festivals (2013) with Skin Deep, Substance & Shadow Theatre are delighted once again to be part of such a great local festival.

“Substance & Shadow’s experimental approach to storytelling really pays off, the end result being a gripping evening which is both entertaining and thought provoking.” – Exepose

“Grass roots theatre at its greatest.” – Arts Review Magazine

Substance & Shadow Theatre are an exciting Exeter based theatre company who are passionate about producing powerful, thought provoking and challenging drama. We are self funded and therefore, budget restricted. Nevertheless, we aspire to create quality drama that is both inventive and original.
