The Skull Kids plus The Azimuth Coordinator live at the Revelry, Exeter Sat 13th July
Exeter bands The Skull Kids and The Azimuth Coordinator are teaming up to present a night of live music at the Revelry.
With nostalgic references to the whimsical psychedelia of the 1960’s, mixed with a variety of more contemporary alternative rock influences, The Skull Kids perform original songs weaving whimsical lyrics with unusual and captivating instrumentation. Their music focuses on strong melodies and dramatic ebbs and flows of sound, allusive lyrics blurring the distinction between reality and fantasy.
The Azimuth Coordinator place their roots in progressive rock, creating original instrumental pieces which twist and turn in unexpected directions. They combine elements of thrash metal and spacerock to produce obscure, unpredictable and at times catchy pieces, with enough intensity to jump start the oldest of motors. Driving bass lines fuse with crisp and intricate drums, raw heavy guitar riffs, sax harmonies and swirling tweaky monotron noises to produce a sound which takes a nod to early 70s prog rock and metal, post-rock and at times intense spacerock.
Live music starts at 22.00 with The Azimuth Coordinator. Within the homely setting of The Revelry, the combination of these two bizarre bands will be a real treat for the ears and mind.
