The Vibraphonic Festival returns

Vibraphonic Festival, various venues, Friday 18th March to Sunday 3rd April

The festival of reggae, hip hop, blues, jazz, electronica and all things funky returns with a range of concerts, events, club nights, bar sessions and workshops in venues across Exeter.

Highlights this year include:

Analogue To Digital
– the digital music expo with hands-on demos, live shows and workshops by world-renowned music industry experts, artists and manufacturers of digital recording and production, guitar and bass technology (Sat 19 @ Exeter Phoenix)

Pigbag
– the re-formed 80’s alternative funk band known for their infectious hit Papa’s Got A Brand New Pigbag – Friday 18th March at Exeter Phoenix.

Kinoteka – a festival of Polish films, food and music – Sunday 20th March to Sunday 3rd April at Exeter Phoenix.

Courtney Pine
– the UK’s premier jazz saxophonist with a set based on his new album Europa which reflects numerous continental influences Sunday 20th March at Exeter Phoenix.

The Green Man – the mythical figure returns to the city centre from sunrise on the spring equinox – Monday 21st March, across the city.

Mike Westbrook’s Big Band – the mainstay of the British jazz scene for 40 plus years and Devon resident leads a new big band – Thursday 24th March at Exeter Phoenix.

Example – the UK rapper who broke through last year with four Top 40 hits – Friday 25th March at The Lemongrove, Exeter University.

Dele Sosimi’s Afrobeat Orchestra
– the man behind the acclaimed stage show Fela! and who was also the main man in both Fela Kuti’s and Femi Kuti’s bands in the 80s and 90s, now leads his own outfit – Friday 25th March at Exeter Phoenix.

The Abyssinians – classic Jamaican roots reggae – Saturday 26th March at Exeter Phoenix.

Sub Focus – the latest drum and bass star to follow in the footsteps of Pendulum and Chase ‘n’ Status – Friday 1st April at The Lemongrove, Exeter University.
