Ewan’s Mixed Bag
I’m Ewan James and I play a diverse mix of tracks that really mean something to me, and maybe generate a bit of curiosity and inspiration for my listeners. I go back and forth in time, from the 60s onwards.
The sounds are rooted in underground indie, psychedelic and alternative rock. Not just things that sound good, but perhaps have interesting songwriting angles, challenge conventions, and have an emotional pull.
Most importantly I’m very keen to help make people happy, or happier, in some way. So my show is hopefully an interactive listener experience – with requests very welcome
What brought you to Phonic FM?
I’m music obsessed, so got in touch with the station to see if they’d give me a chance to do something here – I still can’t believe they trusted me with a presenter role!
What does Phonic FM mean to you?
What a way to give something back to your community, make a little difference, and have a great time along the way.
It’s like a big family here and they make me feel very welcome.
What do you do when you’re not on Phonic FM?
More music!
I am a lead guitarist, songwriter, and producer, trying to get something going with other young musicians. The goal is to write, record and tour with a band, and make it my life!
How do radio presenters do it?
With a little help from their friends!
