Thoroughly Modern Milly, Exeter Northcott, runs until Saturday 28th January
If you are going out this weekend make it a trip to see the University of Exeter Footlights production of Thoroughly Modern Milly.
The student company have put on a fantastic musical for every year, but this performance excelled.
Every member of the cast of the adaptation of the Tony award winning Broadway musical was brilliant, but Rosie Abraham, as Millly Dillmount, stole the show.
The part was acted to perfection. For the duration of the feel-good musical she truly lived the character bringing her to life complete with mannerisms and gestures. It was a wonderful performance.
But that is not to do down the rest of the cast, each and everyone was faultless, making this one of the best musicals I have seen in recent years.
The show tells the story of Millly Dillmount a feisty small town girl who moves to New York in search of the thoroughly modern pursuit of marrying for money not for love. But her plans are stalled when she finds herself charmed by the broke Jimmy Smith. And getting caught up in a white slavery ring.
This high-spirited, glitzy musical leaves you with a smile on your face and a warm feel-good feeling.
