Show of Hands are to perform at special Cathedral Green celebration as the Olympic flame arrives in their hometown of Exeter next month.
Singer songwriter Steve Knightley, multi instrumentalist Phil Beer and bass player and vocalist Miranda Sykes have been invited to perform in the evening concert to be staged on Exeter Cathedral Green on Sunday, May 20, 2012 for which 8,000 free tickets have been made available.
Just weeks after selling out the Royal Albert Hall for the fourth time, the band – who are marking their 20th year – will be back on home turf, playing outside the Cathedral to close the concert just after the Olympic flame is lit.
Show of Hands are also performing for a fundraising gig at Topsham Rugby Club on Sunday May 6th (tickets from Exeter Phoenix Box Office) and Knightley and Beer will be at the Royal Albert Memorial Museum in Exeter on Friday May 18th. For tickets for the latter event, phone 01392 265858.
