Phonic FM celebrates the start of its third year on air this week.
With an ever growing audience and diversity of programming the station has rapidly established itself as Exeter’s sound alternative.
Paul Giblin, communications directot of Phonic FM said: “"What has made Phonic FM so special over the past three years has been the sheer diversity of our programming and the amount of local talent or obscure national music you simply wouldn’t hear anywhere else.
“Many of our shows have featured local bands squashing into our tiny studio to play special acoustic sets or local electronic musicians showcasing their compositions on air for the first time, real exclusives which prove that we really are Exeter’s sound alternative!”
The station has also broadcast some fantastic unique programming such as Westenders, the Eyelife show and Hope and Fears.
Listner Craig emailed the station to say how how much he enjoyed Phonic FM after happening across it whilst driving through exeter.
He said: "I drive once a month from Cornwall to Brighton and last week for the first time I heard your station. I only had you for about three tracks – but what a three tracks!
"The first sounded French/Algerian, the second was some funky beats, and the third I cant remember, except I liked it. So so fresh.
"Keep it up, and I will look out for you in the future."
