Mad Dog McCrea and Dan Steeer to headline Combefest Music Festival in beautiful Combeinteignhead on the banks of the River Teign.
A day packed with live music of various styles will take place in Combeinteignhead, on Saturday 10th September 2011, 2pm to 11pm. With the backdrop of the Teign river estuary and the rolling hills of Dartmoor in the distance Hearn Field provides an unrivalled setting to hear some of the best music acts that the south-west has to offer.
With a variety of music styles this festival has something for everybody. From toe tapping to dance: familiar favourites and new songs to mull over. This is a family friendly event with children’s entertainment, food and a licensed bar.
Acts include Mad Dog McCrae, who are bound to bring the audience to their feet with their unique mixture of folk rock, pop, gypsy jazz, bluegrass and infectious just good fun. This band never fails to capture the complete attention of their appreciative toe tapping audience. Mad Dog McCrae are festival favourites for the good time feeling that inevitably results from their performance.
Lovers of the Quails will recognise the name of front man Dan Steer. As lead singer/songwriter of The Quails, Dan supported Muse, The Kooks, Motorhead and Newton Faulkner and played at numerous festivals including Glastonbury and Latitude. Dan is now playing with a new line up of talented musicians. He has a distinctive and powerful voice and is a charismatic performer.
Alex Hart’s silky smooth voice will stream out over the lawns of Hearn Field, supported by her band they deliver an exciting blend of top quality pop, rock, disco and funk music. Alex Hart and Band perform a fantastic set including songs to make your heart and soul get into the party mood, and dancing.
Cole Stacy follows with Devon’s great tradition of singer songwriters His rapidly growing reputation has led him to have continued airplay on radio and has performed nationwide.
Kirkwood Brown are three brilliantly talented musicians who have been on the circuit in different guises. They bring their skills and musicianship together to form a special blend with a range of styles acoustic blues/jazz/rock played on resonator and acoustic guitars, mandolin/mandocello, and double bass.
American Old Time Music fans will recognise 44Gun. This group has been entertaining followers of American Old Time for a number of years. New audiences will be up jigging and yelping to the catching tunes.
This event is organised by a non-profit making community group.
