The Rock Show’s Mike James is one of the forerunners for FM DJ of 2011 at this year’s South West Music Awards. His nomination is in the only category that is a public vote and he is up against some formidable contenders from the likes of the BBC and Heart FM.
A spokesman for the Phonic FM board of directors said: “We think the whole station should get behind Mike’s campaign to canvass as many votes as possible. Mike is a fantastic DJ and has put a lot pof time and effort into his Friday night Rock Show.
“If Mike wins this award it will draw a lot of attention to Phonic FM and the other great presenters and DJs at Exeter’s Sound Alternative.”
The closing date for voting is midnight on Saturday.
