The Ghost Talks, Exeter Library, Wednesday 27th October, 6.30pm
Award-winning animator, Ashley Thorpe, will headline The Ghost Talks event 2010 held at the Exeter Library on Wednesday the 27th October.
Ashley, of Carrion Films, has won a Media Innovations award for his film Scaryecrow and will be showing his latest creepy short film The Hairy Hands (Raindance Festival Nominee) at this spooky annual event. He will also talk about this famous Dartmoor legend and the making of the film itself.
Lee Rawlings, the Ghost Talks organiser, said: “Ashley is one of these rare film makers that can pile on the atmosphere to genuinely make you shiver when you watch his micro movies.
“I have been meaning to get Ashley involved for a while as he is super talented at creating startlingly original films. He is also Exeter-based and has told a story of Dartmoor that will eventually be played in theatres globally, he is our Devonshire horror film ambassador.”
The Ghost Talks also includes Suze Gardner who will be talking about her experiences writing her new book Haunted Exeter, and an original self-penned story performance from local actor, Jim Sadler.
Tony Eccles , curator of world cultures at the RAMM, will be the MC for the night and will kick off the evening with his own bizarre talk about the possible links between Faeries, Ghosts and UFO’s!
And if that is not enough two artists, Emily Ings and Tony Emson, will be exhibiting their superb gothic art on the night.
There will also be a raffle to win some ghoulish prizes and refreshments available.
All ticket sales profits will go to the Wheels Appeal Community Bus for Moldova
