The Phoenix Love Radio Show

The Phoenix Love Radio Show

I’m a recording artist with very wide-ranging musical tastes. I like to dig out lesser-known songs from both under the radar and established artists, with a focus on finely-crafted pop, a sprinkling of classic reggae and folk, and a soupçon of psychedelia and electronica. With virtually every track I play I’ll have an interesting fact about it, from how the song ‘works’ on a technical level, to little details about band members, and so on. I would hope that my listeners, like me, also passionately believe that great pop is just about the highest art form around.

What brought you to Phonic FM?

My brother from another mother, the ever lovely Arash Torabi, presenter of Psychedelic Saturday on Phonic FM put me forward when a slot came up.

What does Phonic FM mean to you?

A chance to share my 30+ years of obsessively listening to music as well as writing, producing and releasing my own critically acclaimed work in my duo, Go Satta.

What do you do when you’re not on Phonic FM?

Principally I make my own music, hang around with my wife and two young kids, cook, lie about on the floor, laugh, attempt to read five books at once and never finish any of them.

How do radio presenters do it?

In my case, in a somewhat flaky manner.
