Occupy the Airwaves – International Women’s Day 2019

Occupy the Airwaves – International Women’s Day 2019

To celebrate International Women’s Day on Friday 8 March 2019 we will be running a special schedule from 8am–midnight, with 16 hours of music and chat, recorded interviews and lots of guests in the studio throughout the day. The theme for the day is women making noise.

For the fourth year, Phonic FM is partnering with Dreadnought South West, an Exeter-based charity which aims ‘‘to advance the education of the public, and in particular but not exclusively women and girls, in the role of women in society from both an historical and modern day perspective, in particular by using the medium of the arts”.

Many of our past collaborators will return (including Cathy Towers, Helen Connole, Sharifa, Chee, Kerrie Seymour, Michelle Ridings, Josie Sutcliffe and Natalie McGrath), along with many new women presenters/producers.
