Eat static + Banco de Gaia live, Saturday 16 November

Exeter Phoenix, Saturday 16 November 2019, 8pm, £20

Eat Static is celebrating an incredible thirty years since Merv Pepplar first levitated his flying saucer from the cosmic confines of the Ozric Tentacles hangar and started spreading the finest banging alien techno across the universe. The muscular beats, strangely twisted melodies, swirling space-noises and unearthly effects are all generated completely live by this master of madness who has been consistently taking us on a fast and furious trip to strange new worlds since 1989.

Banco de Gaia is the on-stage incarnation of live electronic music pioneer Toby Marks, celebrating thirty years of producing top quality music acclaimed in both the dance and ambient arenas. This special live performance will be packed with classic tracks which have thrilled audiences across the world over the last three decades, such as the immortal ‘Last Train to Lhasa’ and the timeless classic ‘Heliopolis’, delivered seamlessly with all the right songs in the right order…

DJ Ambiessence completes the line-up for this special event with sets to match brimming with dance-friendly electronica which blends trance sensibilities and techno beats, blissed out washes and sci-fi samples.

All profits to Exeter’s sound alternative community radio station, Phonic FM.
