Timeless Pre-Phonicon Party 6th April 2013

Exeter Local Records presents the Timeless Pre-Phonicon Party in the Voodoo Lounge, Exeter Phoenix, Sat 6th April 2013.

In preparation for Phonicon 2013 Exeter Local Records presents an eclectic night of live music and DJs in the Voodoo Lounge at Exeter Phoenix. The night features live sets from Catherine and the Owl (gothic folk experimentalia) and The Skull Kids (original baroque grunge). With 80s, 90s, 00s Shindig Indie Pop DJs on the decks and the Future Sound of Exeter providing a light show.

Catherine and the Owl combine folk, indie rock and heavy rock along with unusual and enchanting melodies to create a sound unlike any other band you will have heard. Their lyrics are steeped in mystery with a dark folk twist.

The Skull Kids bizarre and wonderful approach to songwriting nods in reference to the whimsical psychedelia of the 1960’s. Their music focuses on strong melodies and dramatic ebbs and flows of sound, with allusive lyrics blurring the distinction between reality and fantasy.

Exeter Local Records is a pop-up shop which specialises in selling CDs and merchandise from local bands and artists. It also promotes and organises events supporting musicians from the local scene and beyond.

£4 suggested donation on the door.
