Matthew and Me at Exeter Phoenix on 13th March

Matthew and Me are a Totnes-based band whose members met whilst studying music at Dartington College of Arts.

The band will be releasing their debut single Alright on 25th March and, exclusively to the Exeter Phoenix show on 13th March, there will be a limited number of hand made singles available at the event.

On Phonic FM‘s Hot Pebbles! show, Matthew and Me’s Lucy Fawcett told presenter Martin Hodge that the band love playing live and have “a really good response at live shows” and that they see playing at the Phoenix as “a really exciting prospect”.

Lucy said that “anybody who likes indie or alternative elements of music” should come along and check them out.

Their blend of atmospheric and haunting arrangements with big, unabashed choruses have been described as “like an ethereal Prefab Sprout” and having “a timeless sound”.

As well as appearing at regular live music venues, including the Communion label’s club night, the group have started promoting their own bespoke events in an eclectic range of venues around the country including a performance in a huge Elizabethan glass greenhouse and a Devon Vineyard and have had a string of sell out London performances including the Hoxton Hall and Tamesis Dock, a 1930s Dutch barge.
