Sketch’s Sunday Scribble

Chillaxed tunes for the Sunday Morning crowd

Chillaxed tunes for the Sunday Morning crowd

Show name: Sketch’s Sunday Scribble

Presenter/s names: Sketch with guest presenters Joe Duddell and Doctor C.

Show time and day: 10am til 12pm every Sunday morning

What type of music can we expect to hear on your show?
No specific genre but you will get electronic, folk, alt-country, downbeat, indie, jazz, so if you think along those lines your in the right shed.

Why do you like this music?
Because it creates a relaxed sense of conciousness, both in you the listener, and me the DJ, although I’ve never nodded off on air as yet.

What is the format of your show?
Classic old tunes, brand new acts, obscurities crying out to be heard, listeners requests, as much as possible I like to get in guest presenters in with me, top dog being Mr Joe Duddell. Recently I have had some fantastic live in studio sessions from Alela Diane, Laura Gibson, and Cornish band All The Fires.

Why should we listen to your show?
Because its put together with love and care, specificly for you, the lovely listeners.
I dig out tunes that create that “You’re going home in a cosmic ambience” feeling, setting you up for that jail on wheels that is Monday morning.

How did your show come about?
As a natural progression from DJing out, and I had the idea that Sunday morning would give me a captive audience due to Saturday nights high jinks and antics. What I didnt take into consideration was that I would be out on a Saturday night doing the same…doh.

What goes on behind the scenes in the studio?
Drinking water, cracking jokes, filling in football pools coupons and drawing loads of x’s for Spot the Ball.

What has been you best on air moment?
Laura Gibson playing 2 songs live in front of me in the studio, amazing, beautiful and breathtaking.
Go and buy her new album Beasts of Seasons.

What has been your worst/ most embarrassing on air moment?
Getting to the studio door to find it locked and realising the keys were at home in my key cupboard (yes I’ve got a key cupboard, shoot me down if you must) and having to drive home to get them, so the show started at 10.20.

Who is your favourite artist? Why?
David Bowie Why? come on……

What is your all time favourite album? Why?
This week its Pacitic Street by the Pale Fountains.
