Playtime with Andy Sinclair

Presenter: Andy Sinclair

Show name: Playtime with Andy Sinclair

Show time and day: Alternate Saturdays, 12 – 2pm

What is the format of your show?
What type of music can we expect to hear on your show?
Hear all manner of excellent and occasionally surprising tunes, interspersed with what’s on info, shout outs and general (hopefully amusing) ramblings.

How did your show come about?
Playtime began a long time ago in a galaxy far far away, originally with two presenters (Andy and Rich) on Vibraphonic FM.

During the Phonic FM years the Playtime format has changed and only one presenter remains. Although funk, soul and a sprinkling of disco is still the default option, more often than not Andy will play other sorts of music on the show too, choices being themed by what’s been happening in Exeter and the world over the preceding couple of weeks.

Anything else you want to tell us?
Andy has a bit of previous in broadcasting, having presented on University Radio Exeter in the 80’s (yes, he’s old) and on commercial local radio station DevonAir in the early 90’s.

He’s very happy to not be paid to do the Playtime radio show on Phonic, as the freedom to play and say what he likes (within the bounds of decency!), with no on-air advertising, is unparalleled in British broadcasting.

Playtime loves to hear from you too. Email the show while on air at studio@phonic.fm or Tweet @andysinclair13 or join the show’s Facebook page at on.fb.me/1oMVM9J
