Tuesday’s show is Jazz, Funk, Reggae and anything in between and Friday’s is a no-holds barred musicfest with guests, live sets and interviews.
How did you get into this type of music?
Started DJing at gigs with Mikey Good in Plymouth playing Latin Funk, Jazz, Blues, etc., etc… The St. David’s Hillbillies grew out of a group of people on St. David’s Hill but I’m a Pennsylvania cousin now since I moved.
How long have you been DJing?
How did you start DJing?
I used to run pubs and found myself filling in for DJs who didn’t turn up then got together with Mikey Good (Really Good Records in Plymouth) to run a CSC fundraiser titled Get Into The Swing At The Nowhere Inn (The poster had a great picture of Fidel Castro playing golf, mid-swing, in the USA) and we played mostly Latin Funk and it just snowballed from there…[So it’s all Mike’s fault-ED]
Can we find you DJing anywhere other than on Phonic FM?
I’ve been lucky enough to play at various venues around the South West and beyond with many great DJs and I am trying to get out more so please let me know if you want me to come and play at an event/party!!
What has been your most embarrassing DJing moment?
Interviewing a lovely lady on a show live and getting totally tongue tied so I ended up just letting her to talk to everyone else in the studio and playing tunes in between.
